The Jamaican Speedster takes the track for 4X400m today

Usain Bolt, the Rockstar of Athletics is all set to name another record to his credit, when he steps on the track for 4X400m relay at the Olympics. With shattering his own Olympic record in 100m this year, Bolt was expected to improve on his record timing in 200m as well, but he fell short of it.

Unlike Beijing, where Bolt won all the three Gold medals with new WR timings, he has not broken any of them this year.

Its time for 4X400 m finals, and all eyes are set on Bolt, whether he is going to break the WR or not. Bolt stayed away from the actions at semifinals of the event, and Team USA clinched the first place leaving Jamaican boys on the second spot.

Although arrival of Bolt in the Team will make some difference, but Semifinals results show that team USA will not give up easily.

Here it is, all the mix of a terrific contest, where Bolt will be gearing for his third Gold & World record Glory, and Team USA pressing hard for there share of Victory. Be ready to see some super charged action on the tracks.

The Match started with all guns blazing on either sides, with Team USA & Japan both making attacking moves, but it was swift mover Morgan's pass in the 8th minute, which Lloyd netted successfully and drew the first blood.

In 17th Minute, another Star of Team USA rose to occassion, when Japanese striker Ogimi's attempt to equalize was spectacularly saved by Goalkeeper Hope Solo.

The Americans got off to a wonderful start on Lloyd’s goal, created brilliantly by Morgan, but Japan was the superior side as the match unfolded. Solo made two superb saves, the referee missed a clear handball in the box, Rampone cleared a ball behind Solo and Japan smacked the crossbar. Aside from the goal, the best U.S. chance was a near own goal.

Yuki Ogimi scored in 63rd Minute

54th Minute, and Lloyd strike again.. Brace for Lloyd and double lead for the Team. But, in the 63rd Minute  Japanese narrowed the margin, with a Goal by Ogimi.

In the 83rd Minute, Japanese got the best bid to equalize, but once again Hope Solo with a magical save kept the lead intact.

Save the day

With the final whistle, it was Team USA with all the gains... the Revenge, The Gold & The Glory. It is the  Fourth Women Soccer title for USAat the Olympics since 1996.

Alex Morgan's Special Strike takes US into Finals

The Match which had to decide one team of Olympics Women's soccer between USA and Canada was tied 3-3, extra time was ticking by... Penalty...Strikes... misses...all sorts of thoughts started crossing the minds... Destiny was about to play the most important role in the crucial encounter.... but suddenly a Young, talented player made the difference between the sides... her name was Alex Morgan.

"It takes just one chance, one moment of brilliance for someone to do something special," U.S. co-captain Abby Wambach said, after the match.
Alex Morgan Alex Morgan of of the United States celebrates after scoring during the Women's Football Semi Final match between Canada and USA, on Day 10 of the London 2012 Olympic Games at Old Trafford on August 6, 2012 in Manchester, England.
That moment came in the 123rd minute of a game packed with more drama than a high school hallway, when Team USA's young star, forward Alex Morgan, out-jumped, out-willed and outlasted the Canada defense and headed in the second goal of her budding Olympic career to give the Americans a 4-3 win.

It is a moment that will forever be remembered for propelling the U.S. women's national team into its fifth Olympic final.

"I can't remember ever feeling this way," Morgan said, still shaking nearly two hours after the game. "I've never wanted to cry on a field after scoring a goal."

But that's exactly what she did. As she felt the weight of her teammates piling on top of her, the gravity of what she had just accomplished began to sink in, and at the bottom of that pile, "I shed a tear," she said. "We believed from the first minute until the last. Each player individually is better than each player on Canada. But when you come together as a team, you can't break us."

From the first minute, this game was physical, and when it went into extra minutes, it was clear it would be the players who had run that one extra wind sprint, spent one extra hour in the weight room, that would decide the match. "In this game, it was who's fitter, who's stronger, and we showed that in the last couple minutes," Morgan said.

"It was a rugby match out there," said goalkeeper Hope Solo. "You never knew what was going to happen."

US Women team of Misty May-Kerry Walsh to hunt for Hattrick Gold

Misty May-Kerry Walsh in Beach Volleyball Finals

Two time Olympic Champion duo of Misty May-Kerry Walsh will look to add 3rd Olympic Gold in a row.

"We want to seal the deal that we're the best team that's ever happened," Walsh Jennings said Tuesday night after the Americans advanced to their third consecutive Olympic final with a 22-20, 22-20 victory over China. "Misty has changed my life. I just love her. I want to win tomorrow for us."

Walsh Jennings and May-Treanor won gold medals in Athens and Beijing without ever losing a match -- in their first two Olympics, they never even lost a set -- and they ran their unbeaten streak to 20 in a row with a victory Tuesday.

Already the most-decorated team in the brief history of Olympic beach volleyball, Walsh Jennings and May-Treanor are guaranteed at least a silver medal. No one -- man or woman -- had ever won two beach volleyball gold medals before they became repeat champions in Beijing, and until now no woman had won three Olympic medals of any color.

Vijender crashes out of Olympics after quarterfinal loss

M R Mishra London, Aug 7 (PTI) Star boxer Vijender Singh's dream to become India's first individual athlete with back-to-back Olympic medals came crashing down as he lost his quarterfinal bout against old foe Abbos Atoev of Uzbekistan at the ExCel Arena here. The 26-year-old Beijing Olympics bronze-medallist fought gallantly last night but was found wanting against his strong rival, whom he had blanked 7-0 in the Asian Games final in 2010. Atoev, a former world champion in the 81kg division, got his revenge on the biggest stage as he prevailed 17-13 in the nerve-wracking contest. After M C Mary Kom romped into the semifinals of the women's 51kg category earlier in the day, the spotlight was on Vijender to assure India of at least another bronze medal but that did not materialise as he bowed out of the competitions much to the dismay of millions of Indian supporters. The ExCel arena was packed with flag-waving Indian spectators, who lustily cheered Vijender the moment he stepped into the ring and the decibel level increased after every bout. Vijender, a bronze medal winner in the Beijing Olympic Games four years ago, just could not raise the tempo when it mattered the most as his Uzbek rival intelligently fended off his punches and launched counter-attacks.

Usain Bolt is the fastest man on the Planet

Bolt wins 100m Gold with a new Olympic record

Bolt... Bolt...Bolt... and no one else... He once again proved, that why he is considered the fastest man ever. Powering himself to the finish line, faster than the fastest athletes...and thrashing his own Olympic record, Bolt ran like never before.

The Jamaican Lightning took just 9.63 seconds to conquer the finish line, and bettered the Olympic record of 9.69 seconds, set by him in Beijing 2008. Bolt started bit sluggishly, in the race, where champion sprinters with likes of Tyson Gay, Yohan Blake and Justin Gatlin where in fray.

Half way past Blake was leading with Gatlin closing in... but like a lightning Blake zoomed from behind and got away. Yohan Blake came second with 9.75 seconds, and Justin Gatlin clocked 9.79 seconds for bronze.

Roger Fedrer's dream shattered

Andy Murray of Great Britain scripted history, defeating World no.1 Roger Fedrer to win the Olympic Gold medal in Men's Singles.

Murray clinched the Gold medal match against the Grass court specialist Fedrer quite easily in straight sets 6-2, 6-1, 6-4.

The 25-year-old Scot had never beaten Federer in a best-of-five-sets match and lost to him in the Wimbledon final.

He is the first British man to win the Olympic singles gold medal since Josiah Ritchie in 1908.

Murray's singles triump - completed in just an hour and 56 minutes - continues a glorious home Games for Team GB, who sit third in the medal table.

He becomes the first Briton to claim an Olympic men's singles medal since Charles Dixon took silver at the 1920 event in Antwerp
